Environmental Criminal Law
Our activities in the field of Environmental Criminal Law are offered both to individuals and to legal entities. Especially after the enactment of Law No. 9605/98, known as the Environmental Crime Law, environmental demands have gained notoriety within the scope of criminal law.
In this sense, there are peculiarities in this realm that require a specialized representation from an expert lawyer who can deal, for example, with the possibility of corporate criminal liability, admitted only in the event of environmental crimes. In addition, the need for preventive action by companies is another highlight, with the aim of implementing internal crime prevention programs – including in case of negligence.
Therefore, our operations are divided into two dimensions: the first one is litigation, in which we protect the interests of individuals or companies in criminal investigations and/or lawsuits; the second one falls within the advisory scope, in which we offer legal opinions on matters brought by the company, in addition to implementing compliance programs in order to identify any threats and prevent environmental crimes.
