O Globo: The importance of preserving the principle of natural justice by Paulo Freitas

The partner Paulo Freitas published the article ‘The importance of preserving the principle of natural justice’ in the column Fumus Boni Iuris, from the newspaper O Globo.

In the article, Paulo talks about the ruling from Justice Edson Fachin, from the Supreme Federal Court, that determined the nullification of all the decisions took in the criminal proceedings initiated against former President Lula in Curitiba, as a result of a violation to the principle of the natural justice.

Aiming at analyzing the decision under a legal perspective, Paulo examines the rules of competence in the Brazilian criminal procedure.

At the invitation of the Special Committee on Tax Affairs (Ceat) of the Rio de Janeiro Bar Association (OAB/RJ), partner Paulo Freitas participated in a debate on the intersections between Tax Law and Criminal Law.
